The Beat Goes On

Roy Lofing started his lighting business on J Street 57 years ago. It’s still there today. He was born in 1921 during the silent movie era. Warren Harding was the president. Roy went to McClatchy High School when it opened in 1937 and discovered his calling – working with metal and wood. This remarkable businessman is now 96 and has a passion for playing music. He lives in East Sacramento with his friend and fellow musician, a white cockatoo.
